We have tried to use as little coding as we could to set this site up. It uses Linux Ubuntu server 64bit, Mysql and Wordpress. To work with xmlfeed we installed the Simplepie core and Simplepie plugin for wordpress. To ease registration we decided to use native Wordpress users with metadata. To extend the fields we implemented the plugin register plus by Skullbit.

Since the wp-forum plugin is out of maintainance loop we implemented the Simple:Press Forum by Yellow Swordfish. This forum uses wordpress users so you don’t have to register several places. Pages here are pagetemplates with php code. We also use nofollow, wp stats and wp sticky. For the Entrecard image we used the great Free 125 graphic generator.

The forum is now up and running. If you already registered here you won’t have to use other usernames, all is integrated in wordpress.
